Near Broshka and Valas a new motorway is being built. We don’t know the exact route of this road yet, but you already will have to divert from the track at some locations. We kindly ask walkers to keep us posted about major changes. At some point in time we will adapt the trail to the new situation there.

 Stage 3, Section 2: between Mirakë and Babjë, page 99 in the guide book: after the narrow section of 150 meters there are some more shorter narrow sections. Be careful. We’re trying to incentivize stakeholders to do some repairs.

Recently we got reports of worsening of the situation there by people who think the path is too unstable. Some people went downhill before the collapsed section and found a way up further on but we do not have a gps track of that go-around yet.

Traversing the region near the river Evros/Meriç border police may stop you to check your ID. They are looking for refugees. Make sure you have a valid international ID with you at all times.

The border between Kastanies and Edirne cannot be crossed on foot anymore. Ask a car driver to take you through the control area.
